Sleeping woman in burning house woken by firefighters

Dallas Bay volunteer firefighters pounding on a door woke a woman to warn her the other half of the duplex she lives in was ablaze.

Firefighters arrivd at 8:45 p.m. tonight to find the back porch and back side of the home at 6246 Teletha Lane on fire. The occupants weren’t home, but Alicia Wheeler was asleep in the other unit, according to a news release. She escaped unharmed

Dallas Bay VFD Chief Markus Fritts said the fire started on the back porch. The cause is undetermined and will be investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the release stated
