Chattanooga’s Enterprise Center gets $200,000 grant

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is awarding Chattanooga’s Enterprise Center with a brownfield grant to plan for cleaning up an area that includes the 17-acre Cannon/Cumberland industrial site near Third Street.

“Through EPA’s Brownfields Program we support not just environmental revitalization but economic revitalization,” said EPA Region 4 Administrator Gwen Keyes Fleming.

The Enterprise Center, working with the city and other key stakeholders, will develop a brownfields area-wide plan and implementation strategy for the Third Street Corridor.

The corridor is a blend of large institutions, small neighborhoods, and historic landmarks, and includes a Cannon/Cumberland site.
