Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke names Jennings, Bailey and McKissic to key City Hall roles

Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke today announced that Lurone Jennings will be his administrator of the Department of Youth and Family Development and Blythe Bailey will lead the Department of Transportation.

In addition, Berke tapped James H. McKissic to be director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

He made the announcement at a news conference at the Bethlehem Center in Alton Park.

Jennings, a graduate of Howard School and Fisk University, earned a master's degree from Trevecca Nazarene College. He is executive director of the Bethlehem Center and is a former principal of Howard.

Bailey works with River Street Architecture. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and earned a master's degree in architecture from the University of Tennessee.

McKissic is chief operating officer of the Urban League of Chattanooga. He has a bachelor's degree from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master's degree from Robert F. Wagner School at New York University.

The appointments are the first of several expected over the next few weeks as Berke shapes his administration.
