Rhea County defensive tackle Jacob Matthew will be playing football next season for Sewanee, a member of the NCAA Division III Southern Athletic Association.

"Jacob is very physical. He's a good leader. I'm really excited for him to continue playing football at a quality school," said Doug Greene, who coached Matthew last fall. "I think Sewanee really found itself a great player. He will definitely fill a hole in their defense."

The 6-foot-2, 290-pound Matthew had 31 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, four sacks, two fumbles caused and a fumble recovery last season for Greene's Golden Eagles.
