Chattanooga to close some roads for special events

The Chattanooga Transportation Department has announced that some roads will be closed over the next couple of days for special events.

M.L. King Boulevard between Broad Street and Georgia Avenue and Market Street between East Eighth and East 10th streets will be closed on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to midnight for the Nightfall Concert Series. Additionally the 800 block of Cherry Street will be closed at King Boulevard and will only be accessible from East Eighth Street.

Reggie White Boulevard, between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park, will be closed Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Chattanooga Market.

The eastbound curb lane of Frazier Avenue from Forest Avenue to Tremont Street, Tremont Street south to the turnaround, Broad Street from Second Street to Fourth Street, the westbound curb lane of Fourth Street from Lookout Street to Market Street, Lookout Street from Riverside Drive to East Fourth Street, and the westbound curb lane of Riverside Drive/Amnicola Highway from Houston Street to Kings Point Road, will be closed Sunday from 6 to 10 a.m. for the Sports Barn Sprint Triathlon. Westbound Riverside Drive traffic will be detoured south on Lindsay Street.
