Tennessee Vols' Jacques Smith breaks thumb

Tennessee senior defensive end Jacques Smith from Ooltewah will be out the rest of preseason practice after fracturing his thumb.

UT coach Butch Jones said Smith was injured at the end of Tuesday's night practice and is expected to miss four to six weeks recovering.

Jones said that he hasn't ruled Smith out for the Vols' season opener Aug. 31 again Austin Peay.
