A woman is in custody after a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agent was nearly run over while making a traffic stop Monday.

Authorities say Howard Montgomery Calloway, 38, and April Michelle Gammill, 34, both fled from a vehicle about a mile and half down the road after they were stopped by the agent.

The agent stopped the vehicle just before noon at the intersection of Harrison Pike and Bancroft Road in order to serve an active warrant. The vehicle nearly hit the agent before continuing on Harrison Pike.

The agent fired at the vehicle and chased after the suspects.

A section of Harrison Pike was closed during the incident and reopened before 3 p.m.

This morning several people in the Mountain Road area reported they observed a woman carrying a small dog.

Patrol deputies from the Bradley County Sheriff's Office took Gammill into custody just after 7:30 a.m. At this time the search for Calloway continues.

The sheriff's office says anyone having contact with Calloway should notify law enforcement by calling 911.
