CHATTANOOGA - The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Wednesday denied the appeals for the family of convicted killer Jesse Mathews.

The appeals for Ray Vance Mathews (his father), Rachel Mathews (sister), Kathleen Mathews (mother) and James David Poteete (Rachel Mathews' boyfriend) were denied because they signed waivers as part of their plea agreements.

The waivers barred any appeals that the defendants might have exercised.
