"A Family Heritage" is the theme of this year's Cumberland County Fair, a nine-day event running Friday, Aug. 23, through Saturday, Aug. 31, at the fairgrounds on Livingston Road in Crossville, Tenn.
Among the highlights of the fair next week are performances by oldies band Phil Dirt and the Dozers (Monday, Aug. 26), country star Ronnie McDowell (Tuesday, Aug. 27) and Southern gospel group The Dove Brothers (Wednesday, Aug. 28).
A carnival midway debuts Monday. Tuesday has been designated Special Needs Day, and Wednesday is Senior Citizens Day.
Thursday, Aug. 29, is a truck pull for county residents.
Friday, Aug. 30, will offer a Fair Idol singing contest.
Saturday, Aug. 31, is Family Day and will include the Family Farm Olympics.
All exhibit buildings for blue-ribbon contenders will be open daily, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Aug. 26-31. Woodcarving will be showcased daily in the Adult Building.
