Hamilton County Schools enrollment up slightly

Tenth-day enrollment figures for Hamilton County Schools show an overall district increase of 65 students compared to the same period last year, according to Superintendent Rick Smith.

Enrollment totaled 42,500, figures show. That is up from 42,435 at this time last year.

This year's 10-day enrollment is the highest in four years.

In total, high school enrollment dropped by 87 students from the 2012-13 school year while middle school enrollment grew by 145 students and elementary enrollment increased by seven students.
