White man poses as black man in failed Hamilton County Jail escape attempt

Hamilton County jail officers were able to stop inmate Kenneth Burnum from escaping at approximately 5 p.m. Monday.

Burnum claimed to be another inmate who was set to be released, but officers were clued in to a false identity when they discovered the inmate set to be released is a black man, and Burnum is white.

Burnum was charged with criminal impersonation and attempted escape.
