Pedestrian struck, killed on I-75 south of Atlanta

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. - Authorities have reopened the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 as police continue to investigate a wreck that claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Police say the crash happened around 2:45 a.m. today near exit 228 on I-75 in Clayton County, just south of Atlanta.

State transportation officials tell CBS Atlanta that the pedestrian was struck by a semitrailer that was hauling furniture.

All northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for a time but were reopened by 7 a.m. today.
