Police News: Two young men stabbed in Chattanooga

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

Two young men were stabbed Sunday afternoon at 6412 Edgmon Drive, receiving what the Chattanooga Police Department said were nonlife-threatening injuries.

The police department said several parties had gone to the address to collect a debt and a physical altercation had occurred.

That's when a woman produced a knife in self-defense and wounded the two victims, the police department said.

The victims were taken to a local hospital, but the parties refused to cooperate with the investigation, a news release said.

Shooting reported on 25th Street

Twenty-year-old Sikhou Sy received what the Chattanooga Police Department described as a nonlife-threatening injury when he was shot early Sunday morning in the area of 100 W. 25th St.

Sy walked into the emergency room of a local hospital and told police he had been shot by an unknown suspect while walking on West 25th Street.

An investigation is being carried out and more information will be released when available, the police department said in a release.
