Almost a month after 17-year-old Dalton McConathy was killed outside Fred Steven Youngblood's Ringgold, Ga., home, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is willing to confirm two things: McConathy died of a gunshot and the means of death was homicide.
McConathy died Nov. 12 when Youngblood shot at two teens looking for scrap metal in his yard.
Youngblood said he confronted them with a handgun and fired when they ran toward him.
GBI officials have not released any autopsy findings. A GBI open records agent said the autopsy will not be released while the investigation into McConathy's death is ongoing.
