Humboldt, Tenn., murder suspect arrested

JACKSON, Tenn. - The U.S. Marshal's Office in West Tennessee says a murder suspect who was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's top 10 most wanted list this week has been arrested.

A statement from the office of U.S. Marshal Jeff Holt says 27-year-old Albert Jones Smith Jr. was taken into custody on Wednesday after investigators received a tip that he was staying at a residence in Jackson.

The TBI said Smith was wanted on a first-degree murder charge in the shooting Sunday of 20-year-old Titus Middlebrook. Investigators say Middlebrook was killed while in the front seat of a car in Humboldt.

Holt said Smith was taken to the Madison County Jail. It was unclear whether Smith has an attorney.
