Dickson County residents could be without power for days; Outages remain in parts of Middle Tennessee

It could be days before service is restored to all of the nearly 8,000 people without electricity in Dickson County after an ice storm hit the region overnight.

Crews from Dickson Electric System are trying to make repairs at hundreds of locations across the county where trees fell on power lines and put residents in those areas in the dark, said Darrell Gillespie, the general manager for the utility.

"With 375 places to go, it's going to take us a good while to get around to all of them," he said.
