The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team will do something a little different on its lone home date in December. How different? Try a candlelight dinner.

Chattanooga opens its Southern Conference schedule against the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs on Monday, Dec. 16, with the inaugural Taziki’s Candlelight Dinner Match. Instead of pulling out the bleachers in the lower section of Maclellan Gym, UTC officials are bringing in tables of eight, with formal place settings, for a full meal during the match.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and valet parking will be available at the Douglas Street entrance to Maclellan Gym to those who have purchased tickets for the candlelight experience. The athletes hit the mat at 7 p.m.

Fans who purchase a dinner ticket will be closest to the action and enjoy the meal catered by Taziki’s Mediterranean Café. Members of the wrestling team not competing will work the room as hosts and servers.

Fans can purchase a full table or individual places from the link at www.gomocs.com (click on Tickets). Cost is $400 for an eight-person table, $50 per individual ticket. This includes valet parking, a ticket to the match and the meal during the match.

For more information, contact the UTC Ticket Office at 423-266-MOCS (6627).
