Chattanooga police responded to a report of a man being shot in the eye Tuesday night on the west side of town.

Officers were dispatched to 1321 Cypress Street Court, a few blocks northwest of the convention center area, at approximately 9:40 p.m.

A Chattanooga Police Department release this morning said the victim, Joshua Timmons, sustained a single gunshot wound to the right side of his forehead.

He was taken to a local hospital where his wound was determined to be non-life threatening, the release said.

The release said the suspect was wearing a ski mask and jump suit.

The investigation is continuing and added information will be release when available.
