School security officer cited in indecent exposure sting in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE - A Knox County Schools security officer has been placed on administrative leave after being cited in a police sting targeting indecent exposure in a public park.

Dennis C. Murphy was placed Friday on leave with pay pending an investigation into the indecent exposure citation issued to him by the Knoxville Police Department, according to Knox County Schools spokeswoman Melissa Ogden. The incident is alleged to have occurred the same day.

Ogden said Gus Paidousis, who commands the security unit, on Friday collected Murphy's firearm, baton, bond card, school identification card, school keys and radio.
