Airman returns from South Korea to surprise fiancé in Chattanooga

Airman Nick Riehle reunites with fiance Rachel Shelton

It's a moment nearly a year in the making.

"I'm kind of anxious," said Airman Nick Riehle, standing outside Northgate Mall in Hixson.

Riehle returned home to Chattanooga from South Korea Friday afternoon to surprise his fiance, Rachel Shelton. Rachel expected him home over the weekend. Riehle decided to show up early to surprise her at work.

"Do you think she has any idea that you're about to walk in," our crew asked.

"No, she has no idea," he smiled, looking down at the dozen red roses he had in tow.
