UTC Lady Mocs beat Elon

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team rebounded from a slow start and cruised to an easy 63-40 win over Elon on Saturday afternoon at McKenzie Arena.

Tatianna Jackson led the Lady Mocs with 14 points. Ashlan Dewart scored 12, and Faith Dupree scored 11 in the win.

UTC had just five points in the first 10 minutes of action tonight against Elon at McKenzie Arena. It was UTC's bench that got the Lady Mocs going and led them to a 25-18 lead at the half.

UTC (20-3, 13-1 SoCon) made just two of its first 11 shots in the opening 8 minutes. Elon (12-10, 9-4) had a 12-3 at one point and the score was 14-5 after 10 minutes.

The Lady Mocs got going when Ka'Vonne Towns and Jackson entered the game. In 12 minutes of action in the first half, Jackson scored a team-high nine points, while Towns had two points and five rebounds in 11 minutes.
