Deputies were called to 5104 Wesleyan Road about 9 p.m. along with the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department. Witnesses saw smoke and fire coming from the house, Atkinson said.
Police arrested Dillon on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated arson, felony reckless endangerment false imprisonment and interference with emergency calls. He was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on $105,000 bond pending a March 4 court appearance.
The homeowner estimated the fire damage at $100,000, Atkinson said.
Man shoots home intruder
An East Ridge resident shot and wounded a man who was breaking into his home early Saturday, police said.
The victim said the intruder, George N. Miles, 34, of Rossville, was his ex-boyfriend, East Ridge police spokesman Erik Hopkins said in a news release.
The victim said the two earlier had been involved in a disorder at the Walmart on Brainerd Road, and that Miles hat threatened to come to his home and kill him.
Police were called at 4:32 a.m. to the home on Greenbriar Road and found Miles with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The victim said Miles had broken the bedroom window and was crawling through, yelling, "I'm going to kill you!" The victim said he fired one shot.
Miles was taken to Erlanger hospital, where his condition wasn't available Saturday evening.
