American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee chapter chief named

Greg Waite will begin work Feb. 19 as the new community chapter executive for the American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee, the organization announced in a news release.

"We could not be more pleased to have the outstanding leadership of Greg Waite to guide our chapter to the next level," said board Chairman Oscar Brock.

"Greg's experience and skills will be an excellent fit for the needs of the American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee."

Waite joined the Red Cross six years ago as the chapter CEO in Princeton, Ind., according to the release. In 2008, he was named chief development officer of the Southwestern Indiana chapter in Evansville. That became the regional headquarters of the 33-county Evansville-Wabash Valley Region.

Before that, Waite was a news anchor and consumer reporter in Evansville, and New Bern, N.C. He is a graduate of Bethany College in West Virginia.
