The Tennessee Wesleyan women's basketball team yielded first place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference with a 68-52 home loss Saturday to Milligan, but the Wesleyan men's locomotive just keeps picking up speed.

The Bulldogs, ranked No. 23 in NAIA Division II, have only two regular-season games left and a four-game lead over second-place Bryan and Point after whipping fourth-place Milligan 114-84 for their 13th win in a row. Tyler Burse scored 20 points, Desmond Crisp had 19 and Zamarius McClendon and Shannon Smith added 18 apiece for TWC (20-7, 13-1), while E'Jay Ward had 14 points, eight assists and six steals. Tyler DeVault had 28 points and 13 rebounds for the Buffaloes (17-11, 9-6).

Johneshia Good scored 23 points for the Lady Buffs (21-8, 14-2), and Kayla Kelly from Chattanooga had 11 points and two blocked shots. Cody Houck had 19 points and nine rebounds and Heather Gibson had 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for TWC (16-9, 13-3), which shot 29.2 percent from the field.

Bryan swept its AAC doubleheader at St. Andrews, 63-53 in the women's game and 79-68 in the men's behind 23 points and 15 rebounds from reigning league player of the week Robert Riley. Derrick Walker added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Lions (13-13, 9-5), and Tim Fortenberry had five of their 23 assists.

Morgan Burnette had 19 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks and Jenna Ray had 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Lions (16-10, 10-6), while Kelsey Brooks made five steals. Benee Norton had 27 points and nine rebounds in defeat.

• At Cleveland, visiting Chattanooga State put a damper on Cleveland State's inaugural Hall of Fame weekend by sweeping the TCCAA doubleheader, 59-46 with a closing 12-2 run in the women's game and 79-74 in the men's.

Sierra Sales had 24 points (including 10 of 10 free throws) and 17 rebounds for the winning Lady Tigers, and Stevonna Scott and Khamiyah Crawford added 15 and 12 points. Chelsea Jones led the Lady Cougars (13-8, 6-6) with 17 points and seven rebounds. Former Cougar Nick Ross scored 32 points with 26 in the second half for the Tigers, who got 18 points and eight rebounds from Demetrius Kitchens. Ralph Eason had 27 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Cougars (12-8, 6-6), and Trey Suttles had 18 points, six steals and six assists.

• At Clevland, Lee swept visiting Emmanuel in Southern States play, beginning with a 67-41 victory for the NAIA Division I seventh-ranked Lady Flames (22-2, 12-2) in which Jenna Adams had 16 points and eight rebounds, Hollie German had 13 points and six assists and Julia Zimmerman hit four 3s for 12 points.

The second-ranked Lee men (24-1, 13-1) downed the No. 9 Lions (23-3, 12-2) as Will Barnes scored 19 points and Steve Bennett had 11 rebounds with 16 points. Duran Blue scored 12 points and Jamorris Gaines had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Flames, countering Adrian Justice's 31 points for Emmanuel.

• At Montgomery, Ala., the Covenant Lady Scots fell to 10-10, 3-6 in the Great South, with a 76-62 loss at Huntingdon (13-9, 6-2) despite 20 points by Jessie Blankenship and 13 apiece by Kiaira Cooper and Jessica Chittenden. Cooper made five steals and Chittenden had seven rebounds.
