UTC's freshman guard Farad Cobb has charges dismissed

General Sessions Court judge Lila Statom on Tuesday dismissed two misdemeanor charges against University of Tennessee at Chattanooga freshman guard Farad Cobb, pending Cobb's completion of three public work days.

Cobb was arrested in the morning hours of Jan. 21 outside the Electric Cowboy and charged with drinking under age and disorderly conduct.

"There are some disputed facts," attorney Jerry Summers said. "Doing these days will get his attention. Hopefully he's learned a valuable lesson and it's a learning experience for the young man."

UTC coach John Shulman suspended Cobb for the Mocs' game at Elon on Jan. 24, and he has not started since Jan. 19. Cobb is averaging 5.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 18.4 minutes per game this season.
