The Georgia Department of Labor’s LaFayette Career Center will help Roper Corp. fill about 80 temporary production jobs at its Walker County manufacturing facility, according to a news release.

Recruitment will be held Feb. 27 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Bank of LaFayette’s Community Room, located at 104 North Main St. in LaFayette. The company, which makes kitchen stoves and microwaves, will be recruiting temporary production operators, the Labor department release states.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and, although no manufacturing experience is necessary, some work experience is preferred. Any applicant must have a high school diploma or a GED and pass a company background check and drug test.

Applicants chosen will work from 20-40 hours each week for $10.25 an hour, the release states.
