'Love ... and Other Stuff'

Dinner concert in Dalton spotlights love gone good and bad

The Creative Arts Guild in Dalton, Ga., will open its 2013 Spigel Concert Series on Friday, Feb. 15, with a concert and catered dinner. "Love ... and Other Stuff" will feature vocalist Lori McDaniel and the Robert Crabtree Jazz Trio.

"We chose songs for the evening that would be great for a date night but that would also be entertaining if you weren't on a date," said McDaniel. "I call them 'love gone good' and 'love gone bad' songs. I know I couldn't stand up there through two sets singing just lovey-dovey songs, so we will be interjecting some humor into the evening as well."

Guests also may peruse the galleries, where the works of the Carpet Capital Camera Club, Lolly Durant and John McPherson will be on exhibit.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with dinner served at 7 and the concert following shortly thereafter.

Tickets are $45 per person, which includes the concert, dinner and drinks. To make reservations, call 706-278-0168.

The Spigel Concert Series will continue through 2013 with performances by The Brookwoods, L'Abri Symphony Orchestra, Lizzie Thomas and puppet master Lee Bryan.
