MACON, Ga. - Police in Macon say two officers have been arrested for selling and disposing of guns recovered during investigations.

Macon Police Spokeswoman Jami Gaudet says 26-year-old Jonathan Wesley Graves and 27-year-old Adolphus Jones were arrested Thursday and have resigned from the department.

Gaudet says Graves is charged with theft and two counts of violating his oath of office. Authorities say he took guns recovered during investigations in November 2011 and June of 2012, reported them lost and gave them away as gifts.

Authorities say Jones removed a gun from an apartment during an investigation in August 2012, discharged it and disposed of it. Jones is charged with theft and violating his oath of office.

Graves is being held on $13,800 bond and Jones is being held on $9,750 bond.
