Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., City Councilman Charles Sharrock, who was ousted on Nov. 27 for sexually harassing female city employees, will wait until the Catoosa County Superior Court rules on his appeal of his ouster before trying to retake his seat.
Sharrock planned to show up at the Feb. 11 City Council meeting to reclaim his seat and vote on agenda items, city attorney Robert Stultz wrote in a motion filed on Feb. 7 in Catoosa County Superior Court.
The restraining order wasn't necessary, Stultz said, because Sharrock, who's represented by Ringgold attorney Renzo Wiggins, agreed to wait until the court hears Sharrock's appeal of his ouster.
Sharrock's appeal argues that Fort Oglethorpe violated his due process rights and an incident in which he kissed a police detective on the jaw wasn't serious enough to warrant his ouster.
