2 adults, child hurt in Hixson Pike crash

Two adults and a child were injured in a head-on collision at 1:25 p.m. today that blocked Hixson Pike for a time.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said in a news release that Alma Shackleford, of Graysville, Tenn., pulled her Ford Ranger pickup out of the parking lot of the Dollar Store at 8311 Hixson Pike in front of an oncoming Chevy Trailblazer.

The head-on crash threw Shackleford from her truck. The driver of the Trailblazer was Chasity Williams, of Hixson. A 3-year-old child was in the vehicle as well, Atkinson said.

All three were taken to the hospital, she said.

The sheriff's traffic division is investigating the crash, she said.
