A routine traffic stop led to the drug arrest of an Alabama man today, according to a news release.

A DeKalb County Sheriff's Deputy stopped Kenneth James Jackson, 43, near Kilpatrick, Ala.

The deputy had Jackson step out of the vehicle when Jackson reportedly tried to hide something from the officer. No weapons were found, but the deputy discovered a marijuana pipe in the seat of the vehicle. After further searching, the deputy found a bag of methamphetamine and about 10 grams of spice.

Jackson was arrested and taken to DeKalb County Detention Center on a $16,500 bond. He was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of controlled substance and one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
