CSO Chamber offers 'Mozart and More'

A work that has been referenced in movies and television will be showcased in the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera's Chamber Series performance of "Mozart and More" on Sunday, Feb. 24.

The Austrian composer's "Gran Partita" may be familiar to filmgoers for its inclusion in "Amadeus" (1984) and "Bright Star" (2009).

In the television drama "The West Wing," according to online sources, the third movement is played at the end of an episode in the seventh season during a recital attended by the show's President Bartlett.

In the fourth season of "How I Met Your Mother," the third movement is played while Marshall praises "the best burger in New York."

Opening the afternoon performance will be Piazzolla's "Histoire du Tango With Flute and Harp."

Conducted by Kayoko Dan, the concert will begin at 3 p.m. in the Silver Ballroom of the Sheraton Read House, 827 Broad St.

Tickets are $20. To purchase, call 423-267-8583 or visit www.chattanoogasymphony.org.
