Jazz festival set for Memorial Day weekend in Atlanta

Jazz artists such as Meshell Ndegeocello, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Dominick Farinacci, Jose James and Tia Fuller are set to play at this year's Atlanta Jazz Festival.

Set for May 25-27 in Piedmont Park, the free festival, now in its 36th year, also features, among others, Aruán Ortiz, Gretchen Parlato, and Rudresh Mahanthappa.

"Audiences will enjoy a wide spectrum of styles from traditional straight-ahead, Latin jazz and swing to jazz flavored with neo-soul, hip-hop, R&B and world music," says Camille Russell Love, director of the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs. "As technology brings us closer, musicians are collaborating from all corners of the globe and we're entering a new age of jazz."
