Army Specialist Bradley RogersLaw enforcement on Sunday refused to confirm that a man whose body was found in the Tennessee River on Saturday is a missing Ooltewah soldier, but the man's mother told local television it is her son.
Bradley Rogers' mother told WTVC-Channel 9 that Hamilton County detectives had confirmed the victim was her son and that that foul play is suspected.
Sunday night, a dispatcher for the Marion County Sheriff's Office stated that no identification for the body had been released.
"We can't confirm that it is or isn't [Bradley Rogers]," she said.
Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said Sunday night there were no updates on the search for the missing man.
Rogers, an Army specialist who was home on leave from deployment overseas, was last seen Feb. 3 at the Electric Cowboy nightclub in Chattanooga.
Two fishermen found the body Saturday afternoon near Raccoon Mountain. Marion County Sheriff Bo Burnett told WRCB-Channel 3 that the man was in his 20s and might be from Hamilton County.
The body was taken to Nashville for an autopsy.
