Alabama man charged for impersonating police officer

FORT PAYNE, Ala. - A northeast Alabama man is being held on $150,000 bond after police say he demanded money and drugs while pretending to be a police officer.

Police say 29-year-old Chase Anthony Chauvin was charged with impersonating a police officer, extortion and theft - among other charges.

AL.com reports Chauvin approached an unidentified victim, identified himself as an undercover drug agent and demanded money and prescription drugs from the victim.

Chauvin was arrested Tuesday and is being held in the DeKalb County Jail.
