An elderly couple from Florence, Ky., were killed in a traffic crash this morning in Dalton, Ga., authorities said.
Charles Beckett, 81, and Donna Beckett, 73, died in the crash on Chattanooga Road about 6:50 a.m., Dalton Police Department spokesman Steve Zahn said in a news release.
Beckett pulled his Chevrolet Cruze out of the parking lot of the Guest Inn into the path of a northbound Dodge Ram pickup towing a boat, Zahn said. The pickup driver was Joseph Purcell, 68, of Dalton.
His condition wasn’t give in the news release.
