Chattanooga police arrested a fifth suspect in a kidnapping after he was accidentally released by responding officers last week.

Bennet Clarence Laymon, 28, of East Ridge was reportedly part of a group who kidnapped 25-year-old Shane Keller in hopes of getting drugs or approximately $300.

Keller was stripped of his clothes and had his face and neck cut. He was blindfolded and bound, according to an arrest report.

Keller was attacked when he went to a residence at 3300 E. 36th St. to sell $150 in methamphetamine, according to the arrest report. His injuries were minor.

He told police he was attacked by two men, Laymon and 25-year-old Eric Clifton Slaughter. Keller said Ginger Davis, 48, and Barbara D. Slaughter, 53, ordered the two men to beat and bind him. The incident took place at Davis' residence, according to the police report. Dosher Felts, 22, guarded Keller with a knife.

After Keller's sister contacted authorities, they responded to the house and Laymon was stopped in a vehicle leaving the residence. He was released when officers thought he was not involved, according to the report.

All five face criminal charges. Laymon's charges include two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of criminal conspiracy, one count of aggravated assault, one count of extortion and one count of especially aggravated kidnapping.

Laymon's bond is set at $200,000. He scheduled to appear in court Friday before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge David Bales.
