Brett Bouldin made six of seven 3-point shots and scored 24 points to lead the Sewanee men's basketball team to a 64-50 Southern Athletic Association victory Friday night against visiting Berry. Valentino Bryant scored 15 points off the bench and Tyler Brown had 11 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers (8-5, 1-4). Jonathan Abrams led Berry (4-12, 1-4) with 12 points. Berry's women improved to 9-6, 4-1 with a 72-51 victory featuring 20 points by Chanlir Segarra and 15 by Alexa Evans. Paige Lowe scored 10 and Kayla Sewell had 11 rebounds with nine points for the Tigers (5-8, 0-5).
• Freshman Alyssa Nichelson led the Georgia Northwestern women's basketball team to an 86-57 TJCAA Region XVII win Friday night at Southern Crescent Tech in Griffin, Ga., but five teammates joined her in double figures. Nichelson had 19 points while Mariah Price added 16 and Sierra Smith, Terika Mostella and Kiarra Parks scored 13, 12 and 11. Emily Cole added 10. Quinton Cotton scored 14 points and Alex Miller and Hunter Ivester added 13 and 12 in a loss for the GNTC men.
• Manuel Barroetavena was in on a doubles victory and took a singles win along with Luke Saunders as the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team opened its spring season with a 5-2 loss Friday at the Racquet Club to 63rd-ranked Georgia State. Jackson Tresnan helped Barroetavena in the win at No. 3 doubles.
• The Chattanooga State baseball team is hosting a fundraising pancake breakfast this morning at the Applebee's Restaurant on Brainerd Road. The meal costs $5 and will be available from 8 to 10.
