Chattanooga artist Amanda Brazier says her paintings, such as "Blockade," above, investigate "man's elemental interaction with his environment." She takes that approach with her paints as well, mixing her oils from pigments processed from the soils near her home. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at River Gallery, 400 E. Second St., she will demonstrate her techniques for making oil paints. Admission is free. For more information, call 265-5033, ext. 5, email details@river-gallery.com or visit www.river-gallery.com.
