Two students riding in a school bus and the driver of a Ford Focus were reported by officials to have had minor injuries this afternoon after a crash between the bus and the Focus.

The collision occurred about 3:15 p.m. in the 12800 block of Pendergrass Road, said Janice Atkinson, public information officer with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

A news release said the bus was going northbound on Pendergrass with 21 students from Soddy-Daisy High and Soddy-Daisy Middle schools as the Ford Focus was traveling southbound.

The release said as the two vehicles approached a curve in the road, the Focus crossed the yellow center line and struck the bus.

Another bus was sent by the school system to complete the bus route with the other students while those injured were taken to get medical attention.

The traffic division of the sheriff's office is investigating the crash.
