Ringgold man sought on first-degree cruelty warrant

The Catoosa County Sheriff's Office is searching for a Ringgold, Ga., man on warrants related to the abuse of a child last Saturday night.

Detective Tim Deal of the sheriff's office obtained state warrants for Brandon Edward Jackson, 25, on charges of cruelty to children in the first degree, terroristic threats and aggravated battery, according to a news release.

According to the incident report, the child's mother, Kayla Nicole Carrol, 21, allowed the boy to sleep over at her mother's residence while she was at work. Later that night, she received a call from the boy's grandmother, stating that when she had gone to wake the child she noticed bruises on his face and around his eyes.

Carrol left work to care for the child and asked the boy what had happened. He told her Jackson had hit him in the head several times, the report states. Carrol took the boy to the Catoosa County Sherriff's Office.

Detective Deal interviewed the child at the Children's Advocacy Center, where the boy told the officer that Jackson had abused him, the news release states.

Jackson's whereabouts are unknown. He has brown hair, brown eyes, is about 5'9" tall and weighs 180 pounds, officials said.
