Alabama man arrested on child sex abuse charges

ALABASTER, Ala. - Police in Shelby County say the husband of an in-home daycare owner has been arrested on child sex abuse charges.

Alabaster Police Chief Curtis Rigney said today that two children told their parents Eligio Rios-Martinez molested them at the daycare his wife runs out of their home.

Police say 57-year-old Rios-Martinez is being held in the Shelby County Jail on $400,000 bond. It's unclear if he has an attorney.

Police are working with the Alabama Department of Human Resources to determine if there are any additional victims.

Alabaster is about 25 miles south of Birmingham.
