GPS's Wood set for top U.S. boat

Girls Preparatory School's Bailey Wood is one of the selections to the top United States girls' boat at the junior national rowing team development camp at New London, Conn. The boat including Wood will face Canada's and Mexico's junior development team boats in the Canamex regatta July 12-13 at Oklahoma City. The camp for the nation's top rising seniors includes 29 rowers who have been training at New London since June 17. It is a preparation for selecting the U.S. junior national team for 2014.

Golf

• Carter Harrison of Ooltewah tied for fifth place among the amateurs with his 151 in the inaugural Classic Championship presented by Cleveland/Srixon Golf, played Monday at Mirimichi Golf Course and Tuesday at Spring Creek Ranch in Collierville, Tenn. Harrison tied for 18th overall, 10 strokes behind winner and fellow amateur Matt Cooper of Memphis.
