Track & Field

• OLPH eighth-grader Will Bordash is hoping to have earned spots in the Hershey Track & Field national meet Aug. 3 in Hershey, Pa., by winning the 1600- and 800-meter races last Saturday in the state meet in Nashville. Bordash ran the 800 in 2:27.9 and the "mile" in 5:27, and a committee is in the process of comparing times from across the country to see who moves on to the nationals. Bordash, a soccer player who began running track just last spring, won both sprint events in a Hershey's regional meet May 18 in Murfreesboro, where his grandparents live. He has run the 1600 in 5:20.
