AUGUSTA, Ga. - A Martinez man has died after being hit by two cars.

Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins says 22-year-old Bradley Kenneth Simons was hit by two cars early Sunday and he died early today at Georgia Regents Medical Center.

Sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris told The Augusta Chronicle that Simons was walking on Old Evans Road when he was hit about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. He said a passer-by saw Simons face down in the road and stopped to help. She tried to flag down a vehicle, but it ran over Simons and continued on.

Collins said an autopsy is being performed at the state crime lab in Augusta.
