Boy, 14, dead after accident at Boy Scout camp

MT. PLEASANT, Utah - Boy Scouts officials say a 14-year-old boy from Cedar Hills who died at a camp in central Utah was run over by a trailer.

The Deseret News reports Boy Scouts officials say the teenager was out picking up trash around the camp Tuesday night when he slipped and fell underneath the tires of a trailer being pulled by a truck.

Utah National Parks Council Scout Executive David Pack says the trailer was carrying the garbage.

The teen's name has not been released.

About 400 to 500 Boy Scouts are at the weeklong camp at Tifie Scout Camp at Mountain Dell Scout Ranch. The Boy Scouts' Utah National Parks Council Scout Executive David Pack says the camp will continue despite the death.

Pack says the teen was a counselor-in-training.
