Two fawns, a male and a female, have been born at Rock City Gardens’ Deer Park, according to a news release.
“We are so pleased that our new fallow deer habitat has created the perfect environment for the deer to produce offspring,” said Jeff Raabe, the attraction’s director of operations. “When we went in to check on what we thought was the one new fawn, we got a big surprise … there were actually two.”
Raabe said both fawns are doing well.
Rock’s City’s Facebook friends suggested names for the fawns, and Hansel and Gretel were chosen. The deer park now has four bucks and six does.
The park’s other deer include Precious, Rockette, Bellatrix, Snow White, Roxy, Merlin, Starbuck and Rudy.
