THINGS I WISH MY KIDS WOULD ASK ME

Editor's note: Barry Courter has a 24-year-old son who is a college graduate and a 19-year-old daughter who is a sophomore in college.

Q: Dad, what do I do about (insert minor health issue) that probably doesn't warrant a visit to the doctor?

A: Ask your mother first. Then check the Internet and if you don't get a good answer from either, you can always ask a pharmacist where you are going to buy the meds. They are pretty good at suggesting over-the-counter stuff for all kinds of ailments, and they know what works.
