Erlanger ranks among top hospitals in Tennessee

For the third straight year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Erlanger Health System as one of Tennessee's 10 best hospitals. The magazine ranked Erlanger as high-performing in diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology and pulmonology recognized Dr. Louis Lambiase among the top 1 percent of gastroenterologists in the nation. Erlanger was the only Chattanooga hospital on the magazine list, which reviewed more than 5,000 hospitals nationwide.

"As the region's only academic teaching hospital and Level One Trauma Center, we are extremely pleased to have earned this national recognition," Erlanger President Kevin Spiegel said.

Aramark expands in Nashville

Food and uniform services company Aramark is locating a business services center in Nashville, bringing more than 1,000 jobs over the next three years.

The $20 million investment by the Philadelphia-based company will consolidate and centralize some financial and human resources services that are currently dispersed across the company's North American operations. Aramark is securing property in southeastern Davidson County for the new facility, which it expects to be operational by the end of this year. Aramark describes itself as a global leader in delivering food, facility and uniform services for businesses, universities, hospitals, stadiums and various other institutions. The company has 250,000 employees globally, including more than 3,200 in Tennessee.
