The Ringgold Playhouse makes its debut today, July 18, with the first of five performances of William Inge's "Bus Stop."

The community theater, which will present performances at the Ringgold Depot, was begun to provide a creative outlet for storytelling "that challenges, entertains and inspires both the artist and audience."

Inge's 1955 play is a drama with romantic and comedic elements. It is set in a diner in rural Kansas, where bus passengers must take shelter during a snowstorm. The play was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Play, after a 478-show run on Broadway.

Shows will be presented at 7 p.m. today and Friday, July 18-19; and at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, July 25-27, at the Depot, 155 Depot St.

Tickets are $10. To purchase, call 706-935-3061 or visit www.ringgoldplayhouse.eventbrite.com.
